Gingerbread recipe – Perfect for Christmas time!

Thanks to

Katy says "I’ve got a whole host of posts coming up in December for #Blogmas. As I was getting them prepared recently I realised I’ve never shared this recipe before! My gingerbread recipe is rather simple to make. It takes just a few minutes to throw everything together and then a little later you have gingerbread dough ready to roll and cut! We all need a bit of simplicity at Christmas time and these are ideal. They are great for little ones to help with, and decorate. They taste delicious and you can serve them alongside a nice hot chocolate, an iced coffee or even just a Baileys if that is your sort of thing!"  Read more here

The Top Ten Christmas Books for 1 – 5 Years

Thanks so much to welshmum for this one!

Christy explains "We’ve delved into the spirit of Christmas with my selection of the best Family Christmas Movies on Netflix, now let’s look at books! Reading a book to William every night is an important part of our regime. He’s too young to read yet and may not fully understand the words, but I’d like to think he does get the message, enjoys the books and is absorbing more and more every day. I’ve collated my selection of Christmas Books that are suitable for our little ones, and they’re all available on Amazon!" read more here

WIN A FAMILY TICKET TO A MAGICAL CHRISTMAS TRAIL!win tickets to kew

We’re offering you the chance to win a family ticket for two adults and two children to one of these FOUR magical Christmas trails.

CHRISTMAS AT KEW   As twilight falls, the magic begins ….

Now in its fifth year, Christmas at Kew - the original Christmas trail - returns with a 2017 winter trail boasting over one million twinkling lights.  Step into an enchanting world festooned with seasonal cheer.  Marvel at the Palm House Pond as it springs to life with brightly coloured criss-crossing laser beams, jumping jets of light that dance in time to much loved Christmas classics.  There are hidden surprises too, watch out for the woodland walk along the Path of Bubbles, giant baubles where you least expect to see them.  For the younger ones, the playful atmosphere of White Peaks will welcome you with a Victorian carousel*, helter skelter* and other family rides*.

Following on from the success of Christmas at Kew, we are delighted to announce a series of trails across the country for everyone to enjoy!

CHRISTMAS AT BLENHEIMThe great outdoors made magical …..

The new 2017 Christmas at Blenheim trail is a winter wonderland, inspired by the landscape itself. Walk beneath unique tree canopies drenched in seasonal colour.  Follow the path down towards Santa’s Christmas Workshop, through the twinkling tunnel and between the fibre optic waterfall that flows gently into the Great Lake, where hundreds of brightly coloured boats ebb and flow.  In the distance, flaming plumes flicker as the mesmerising Cascade of Fire springs to life. Complete your treat under the stars with spiced cider, mulled wine or hot chocolate.

CHRISTMAS AT DUNHAM MASSEY The magical after-dark illuminated trail ….

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas when for the very first time, the formal gardens of Dunham Massey are transformed by a one mile sparkling path winding through the historic woodland with plenty of surprises along the way. Father Christmas sees you on your way through twinkling tunnels and a swaying lawn of colour reflected in the water.  As you duck between sparkling hedgerows, discover the Singing Trees rising high into the night sky. Pause at the festive finale as brightly coloured water jets dance in time to much-loved Christmas classics. Afterwards warm up with your favourite winter tipple, or enjoy some toasted marshmallows around one of the fire pits, whilst the aroma of roasted chestnuts fills the air

CHRISTMAS AT BIRMINGHAM BOTANICAL GARDENS  a magical after dark experience

Birmingham’s newest festive attraction follows a jewel-coloured trail. Be welcomed by glittering trees dripping with giant crystals, gaze at the carol-singing cedar coppice rising high in to the night sky and pause for a moment of reflection at the flickering Fire Garden. Just ahead, wander through the twinkling Pealight Tunnel before stopping for a kiss at Mistletoe Moment.  For the young ones, and the young at heart, ride the steam-boat swing* or inside a giant bauble at the fabulous larger than life Christmas Tree*.

Question: Where will you find a Path of Bubbles?
