We had over 500 nominations altogether and we know
that every group and company, large and small appreciate your nominations!
All our nominees from across the UK are listed on our awards pages and you can now vote for the national award categories on-line - we will donate 5p for every vote to Children In Need cast in November so make your vote really matter and vote this month!

Going out for a walk is one of the easiest and most natural activities that you can do with your children from birth. Two mums have put together this large collection of obstacle free walks that are spread across the whole of the UK. The walks are graded to cover every ability and pushchair type, and all have been tested with real babies in all-terrain pushchairs.
The website offers so much more than basic walking routes. Every walk comes with local information and a series of symbols which tell you whether there are refreshments, ducks, playgrounds etc. on route. Not only that, the site is also packed with great information such as what to take with you and gear, book and food reviews.

We're introducing a new service early next year where we'll let you know by email about any new activities in your town that are added to WO4LO! This will save you having to look for new activities yourself, just click the link on our email for all the details!
You can also select two further towns to receive updates about - handy if you live near several big towns or regularly go to another area of the country.
So if like to get ready for this service all you need to do is go to our newsletter registration page and reenter your email address. Then our email management system, Constant Contact, will send you a link so you can update your details- just enter the towns (or London Boroughs) you would like us to keep you up to date about.

We're delighted to support Little Apples pre-school who have created a Christmas card with all the children's fingerprints as baubles on a Christmas Tree!
This card will sell to raise funds for the charity to buy more toys and equipment for the children and is one of the many ways that the parents on the committee support the pre-school.
We'd like to thank Toby at TRS Design for donating his time to create the print artwork and our friends at Brook Press for helping with the printing costs. You might remember we sponsored a charity race night in Yateley in October in aid of the Anthony Nolan Trust. We're delighted to report that the evening raised over £4000 for the charity and it was "Jo Jingles" that won the WO4LO race that night! Well done to Sarah for organising a great evening! |

Vanessa Webb is a licensed Kindermusik educator and has been teaching in Surrey for 5 years. FROM BEAKER TO BIRTHDAYS...Deborah's story
This time last year I was the Script Editor on children's TV shows including 'Tracy Beaker' and 'The Worst Witch'. It was my role to supervise the scriptwriters and help come up with outrageous stunts for terrible Tracy, or conjure up spellbinding tricks for the young witches. It was a great way to earn a living, but recently there have been a lot of cutbacks in children's TV. I decided it was time for a new challenge.
I used to be a children's party organiser, and have always helped at the parties of my three nieces and nephew. I started researching the party industry and couldn't help but notice that the same mass produced supplies are absolutely everywhere! I set about developing some alternative and contemporary products that would really stand out. The result is my unique range of personalised plates and food boxes. These come in any theme together with a child's photo, name and age.

| Swim for Skin is a sponsored swim for all children over the age of 3 years, regardless of swimming ability, any time in January 2008. Swim for Skin is supported by Sanex Kids, and is to help raise money for the British Skin Foundation's Childhood Eczema Fund.
Did you know that 1 in 5 children now suffer from childhood eczema? The severity of the disease can vary greatly. Mild eczema causes dry, hot and itchy skin, whilst in more severe forms the skin can become broken and raw, and in some cases bleed. Unfortunately little is known about the environmental factors that may be important in increasing the risk of eczema. Therefore, the British Skin Foundation has set up the Childhood Eczema Fund to raise money for research into this area. The money in the fund will go towards finding treatments and eventually cures for the disease.
