We love Mamoni! |
If you're looking for something just that bit different then we think we have found an online baby store that offers just that at www.mamoni.co.uk .
Mel who created Mamoni told us "Like most new mums I was obsessed with reading and researching every aspect of motherhood and all the new shopping opportunities it brought! I had lists galore but quickly became disheartened with the high street, which didn't seem to offer anything unusual or different."
Mamoni offers unique products and gift ideas for mums-to-be, newborns and up to age 7.
Many products are made in the UK or ethically produced. And also from mums that have set up businesses themselves.
You're not going to find these on the high street so with Christmas around the corner now is the best time to look at mamoni for some unusual present ideas and a wide range of traditional wooden toys. www.mamoni.co.uk info@mamoni.co.uk |
Holiday Heaven - Sam tells us why!
|
|
We went on a family holiday in the south of France in September to www.country-kids.fr . It was so good we've already booked for next year which is something I've never done before!
Read on to find out why I did!
Country Kids near Montpellier offers a complete holiday experience for families. Every large and small detail is covered.
It's starts with having an on-site crèche with English speaking staff, then there is the animal farm with daily feeding of the animals, two nights of baby sitting are included and a delightful bar and small shop.
Details that also mattered to us were the extensive welcome pack, free "proper" coffee, DVDs to borrow, king sized beds, separate shower and bath, toys and books in each apartment, full range of pool toys and swimming aids and activity area with trampolines, bikes, swings and more!
And best of all there is daily cleaning and they even hang your washing out and empty the dishwasher!
There are only 6 families staying at any time so enough people to socialise with (relaxation class, wine tasting or touch rugby for example) but not too many that you can't escape to a quite corner with a book. You can also go off-site for a range of family activities suitable for little ones such as a carriage ride or trip in a catamaran. The adventurous parents can go rock climbing or canoeing. But there is plenty to explore by yourself including Montpellier, stunning underground caves or idyllic towns and beaches.
Tracey and Stuart are on hand to help with any requirement and nothing is too much trouble.
It's not a cheap option as you would expect with all this but it feels like good value and we certainly came back feeling incredibly relaxed. Check out www.country-kids.fr and I might see you there next year! |

Mums In Business!
|
Elaine tells us what inspired her to start Little Sheep Learning!
"Before having children, I worked with children with autism on home-based, early intervention programmes. Whilst on maternity leave with my first son I discovered parenting forums on the internet and was inspired by the WAHM. A friend convinced me that I could be one too and Littlesheep Learning was launched in May 2005 using my experience of sourcing and designing learning materials."
" The website now has over one hundred products ranging from lotto games to adaptive scissors including a range of pencil grips, first experience books and some of our exclusive own resources. As the main purpose of being a WAHM is being able to work from home with the two children, the biggest restriction is time - juggling mummy with the business woman, so the business is growing slowly alongside the children. The plans for the future include outsourcing the manufacture of the Littlesheep Learning branded resources, continuing to expand the product range and the selection of free articles, colouring and activity sheets on the site." |
