Featured Activity... Monkey Music
|
Since 1993 thousands of children across the UK have grown up with Monkey Music. Children from 3 months - 4 years are grouped in small classes according to their age, which are carefully structured to encourage learning and freedom of expression.
Based on an exciting and progressive curriculum, Monkey Music provides weekly music classes that are entertaining and educational, and is imaginatively taught by specialist teachers who gently encourage social and musical skills within a fun, stimulating and friendly environment. The teachers make full use of the lively 30 minute classes t o captivate the children using a winning combination of catchy music, percussion instruments, visual props and boundless energy, with lots of opportunities for the children to experiment with the instruments and make music of their own.
Monkey Music nurtures a child's natural love of music so that it will last a lifetime. Visit them at monkeymusic.co.uk, or call 0845 680 0248 for details of your nearest classes. |

If you're a fan of WO4LO would you like to help us spread the WO4LO word?
We're starting to build a network of Mums that love taking their babies and children to classes and activities - and have found WO4LO a useful way of keeping up to date with what is going on!
As a member of our Mums network you will receive a pack of our flyers and our new "Baby not Bored!" car signs that you can distribute to friends, colleagues and at any activity, class or group that you attend - with their permission of course!
We also want to hear from you if we are missing any activities in your local area - let us know so we can add them to WO4LO!
As a thank you for your help you'll be entered into a monthly Mums Network prize draw! Tracey from Cheshire is our August winner and her choice of Dream Bag baby sleeping bag is on the way!
The September prize draw will be a scrummy chocogram from Hotel Chocolat!
So if you'd like to join our Mums Network please contact us sending your name and address and tell us little bit about you and the sorts of activities you enjoy. We'll then send you your Mums' Network information pack so you can start spreading the word! |

Mums In Business!
|
Kara Green gives us an insight into running her business!
"I am the Mother Earth Fairy. I roar like a polar bear and leap like a tree frog surrounded by beaming faces. It's the best job in the world, second to being a Mummy.
In March I launched Yoginis, running Mother Earth Adventures, yoga for children. I hold eco-friendly parties, workshops, and teach the Brownies, schools and after school clubs.
I have written my first children's book, outlines for others, and most importantly have been mum to my gorgeous baby Marley. It's not always easy, cooking dinner, answering the phone, working on your logo and jiggling a baby at the same time but there's no room for boredom.
I trained as a journalist, read the news on TV, presented everything from frying pans to jewellery on QVC and fronted programmes for Carlton. Fun, but I wanted more fulfilment and after years of practising yoga studied for a new career. I haven't looked back."
|
| And Dads in Business too! |
When I left paid employment to become a stay at home dad I didn't expect to be a fairy three years later. When the time came to convince our son to give up his dummy, my wife Jo used her skills as a teacher to research, plan and produce a quality piece of work. The results were A+, with James earning his certificate from the Dummy Fairy and Jo and I being the proud parents of James and DummyFairy.net.
We had previously tried taking James' dummy cold turkey, this failed, and other methods we read about seemed cruel or dangerous. As dummies are designed to comfort your child it is not surprising that taking them away is difficult. The Dummy Fairy Pack includes a detailed, simple to follow instruction booklet and lots of goodies to make dummy weaning a fun, easy and positive experience.
Visit www.DummyFairy.net for more details. If your child is too young for the Pack you can use the free 'remind me' service. |

Has your favourite activity gone all healthy? |
|
Has your local toddler group switched from biscuits to fruit for the children? Or does the soft play centre you go offer healthy food choices? Does your little one's pre-school give the children milk instead of squash?
If you favourite group, class or activity is making a difference by offering healthy food choices why not nominate them for the Organix "Make a difference" food award in our 2008 awards! They could win an Organix hamper! |
| It's a 10 horse race! |
| WO4LO is sponsoring one of the races in a charity race night held in Yateley in October.
One of the organisers, Sarah, also a member of the WO4LO team, told us " The event is being held in memory of my best friend who was sadly lost to Leukaemia 7 years ago. The race night, which has already sold out, is expected to raise over £4,000, with all money being donated to the Anthony Nolan Trust."
We're very proud to support Sarah and the Anthony Nolan Trust. All our horses are named after our 2007 Award winners! | |
