 Hurray!
It was finally time for our annual spa trip! My best friend and I have been visiting Ragdale Hall for 6 years, always going late January so we have something to look forward to during this dreary month.
But this year was different, Raggers had changed! We would have the same room, same treatments and still go to lunch in our dressing gowns but this year there was the new Thermal Spa to explore.
We were greeted as always by a porter who collected our bags and whisked our car away. We were then settled down with a coffee before going to our room. We were delighted to see it had been redecorated in tasteful chocolate brown and duck egg blue and the bathroom completely refitted!
After sorting out which classes we were going to go to in amongst our treatment schedule, Tai-chi at 7.30am, a country walk, morning swimming and 2 dance classes (my friend opted out of the Elvis dance class, I can't think why!), we slipped into our big fluffy bathrobes and headed excitedly for the new Thermal Spa.
We started by throwing a pebble into a stream to cleanse our minds and then experienced a whole range of water and steam rooms, from a rose-scented sauna, a thundershower to candle-lit water-filled caverns. And the best bit was the indoor/outdoor pool, nothing better than lying down in the warm water looking up at the sky!
It was the best trip to Raggers yet and my description of the Thermal Spa doesn't do it anywhere near justice, nor does the video on www.ragdalehall.co.uk. The best thing is to grab yourself your own "Mummy Me Time" and treat yourself to a day or two away from it all! |
