Be a happy shopper with The Cosy Shopper! |
|
We think we have found the solution to help make every new Mum's supermarket shopping trip that little bit easier!
You will recognise this scene: It's raining and you get to the supermarket with your baby and all the trolleys are wet and dirty. So you spend 10 minutes using all the tissues and wipes in your bag cleaning and drying the baby seat on the trolley. We've all tried using a blanket but this just doesn't work with the seat harness.
Well, a Mum has launched a fantastic new product to help you! It's called The Cosy Shopper and it's a removable double-lined fleece cover that fits any trolley baby seat, it's quick and easy to put on and off, machine washable and it can be tumble dried.
The seat covers are suitable for newborns up to 1 year old and they also fit on infant carrier car seats to protect the seat from getting dirty and grubby. The Cosy Shoppers come in a range of fabulous colourful patterns including animal prints with ears and comes with a matching fleece blanket and storage bag.
Just £29.99+P&P
You can see them on the TV show called WAGS WORLD on 29th Jan @ 10pm on (SKY channel 277) Wedding TV when 4 expectant footballers' wives are presented with one each, and they LOVE THEM.

Under 5s Book Club - Buy 2 get 1 FREE |
Reading to babies and children is so important, they notice so much, the way you turn the pages, that you read from left to right, but also for that time that you spend cuddled up together and that's what they will pass on to their children. So we're delighted to join forces with Poppy's Books to launch our very own book club especially for the under 5s!
We're also thrilled that Pat Saunders, the founder of Poppy's Books, will be helping us with reviews, information and insider knowledge of children's books!
Each month Pat will review 3 quality books and you can buy 2 and get 1 FREE so this month buy Oops Sorry and We Love Bunk Beds and get Slide and Find Animals for FREE - saving £4.99. Just follow this link and quote WO4LO
Our forum is the place to go if you'd like to feedback to Pat what you think about the books she's reviewed and you can also ask her any questions about books for little ones in general.
This month Pat has reviewed 3 great books for the age range 1 to 3 years.
Slide and Find Animals

Slide and Find Animals is a fabulous book for young children. Rather than having lift the flap, it has a sliding tab that reveals the picture beneath, which is much more durable. In fact, I've never known one break - yet!
All the pictures are photographs, and superb ones, so that all the animals are clearly recognisable. It can be used by very young children who will love to slide the tabs backwards and forwards and also by over 2's who will start to associate the words and the pictures.
Published by Priddy Books £4.99 H/B
Oops Sorry by Richard Morgan
Oops Sorry is subtitled A First Book of Manners and is a wonderful way to help children to know when to say please and thank you. Lovely drawings of a lively toddler making a mess, being naughty and doing things that every self respecting child sometimes does. At the same time it shows how easy it is simply to say sorry or pardon and the difference that it makes.
Parents will also enjoy
"If you leave a horrid mess, what do you say?" and "Tidy up time!"
Published by Red Fox £4.99
We Love Bunk Beds by Paula Metcalf
We Love Bunk Beds is a story about two sisters, Shirley and Doris. Doris follows her older sister everywhere, on her bike, on the swing and attaches herself to Shirley in bed every night. Their mother tries to give Shirley some space to herself and decides on bunk beds. Doris, unusually, is keen on this idea but when they go to bed she has her own ideas how the beds are to be used!
Simple text and wonderful illustrations make this an easy and amusing book to read. Published by Macmillan p/b £5.99
Buy Oops Sorry and We Love Bunk Beds for £10.98+ Postage and receive Slide and Find Animals FREE!

| Organix Nursery Food Awards |
The lucky youngsters at Childsplay Claremont were celebrating at the end of last year after the nursery was named the winner of the very first Organix Nursery Food Awards.
The North East nursery beat off stiff completion from nearly 70 other nurseries in the national hunt to find the nursery that provides the best food and won £1000 worth of kitchen equipment. The awards, which are the first of their kind, were run by pioneering food company Organix, in partnership with the Soil Association and Nursery World, and supported by Hobart. The two runners-up were Willow Cottage Nursery in Oxford and Little Monkey's Nursery in Windsor, who each got £500 of Hobart kitchen equipment.
The entirely vegetarian nursery at the University of East Anglia in Norwich scooped the Organix Nursery Cookbook Prize for submitting the best recipes, and will have their recipes published. Over a million children in the UK attend nurseries, aged between three months and five years. What they eat affects their long-term health as well as their daily wellbeing. Lizzie Vann, Organix founder, who visited the winning nursery, said: "It's really important that children enjoy their food from a young age, and the food at Claremont tasted great! "It was really wonderful to see the staff sitting with the children, eating lunch with them and encouraging them to enjoy their food together." Peter Melchett, Policy Director at the Soil Association, said: "Nurseries can play a vital role in helping parents familiarise young children with fresh, healthy food and where good food comes from. Too many of today's children are growing up thinking that food is something plastic-wrapped that comes from a supermarket."
To read more about the awards and how to nominate this year please visit the Organix website. |

Mums in Business |
|
Be inspired by Aida's story of how settling down in Scotland with her young family has now sparked her own business!
Aida Santory's role as publisher and editor-in-chief of Scotland Parent is the latest venture in a career which has spanned the globe and involved project managing the launch of several television news networks.
Her globe-trotting days have been curtailed by her growing family, with three daughters - so now she has turned her attention to parenting, the subject which occupies most of her time.
Aida set up and launched the bi-montly magazine Scotland Parent in March 2007, after identifying a gap in the market for a publication targeted exclusively at parents and carers in Scotland. Her mission is simple - to bring positive parenting advice to the country, to emphasise good health and diet, to inform parents about what is going on around them and bring up-to-date information and a comprehensive listing of family events in the area. This year is off to a flying start with a media partnership with the Scottish Baby Show in April and the launch of Baby Loves Disco in Scotland.
