Yummy Mummy for the Day!

Like a lot of people I really hate having my photo taken but New<ID’s promise of an experience to remember spurred me into action on a foggy Sunday morning in October… 

10am At the Oxford Circus New<ID Salon we were welcomed with refreshments, opted for coffee and juice for Alice but I could have had a Buck’s Fizz! We were quickly introduced to our stylists and soon had our hair washed and made "swishy"!

11am Downstairs the delightful receptionist explained what was going to happen and took us to the nails and make up area. After a consultation as to the "look" I wanted we then waited with more drinks for the nail technician. As a very special treat Alice had a clear nail varnish, the same as Mummy’s! We then had our make up done: For Alice a tiny bit of powder and lip gloss and for Mummy the works!

12.30pm John, our photographer, explained everything and asked me what I wanted. He was charming and made us both feel at ease. I didn’t feel posed or awkward. We changed our clothes twice and even sported hats and glasses at one point! John changed filters, lighting and location – we had some photos taken on a white staircase. I didn’t feel rushed but Alice has had enough after 40 minutes or so, it had been a long day for her.

1.30pm We were then shown our photos, selecting the ones we liked and narrowing our faves down to choose our included photos, one of them was this one of Alice on the stairs. The photos were amazing!  See more  of them on this link .

New<ID really did make this a special day and all their team couldn’t have been nicer. I’ve been to other photographers before but none make you look and feel the best you can even before a single shot is taken.

• Take a friend or family member to amuse little ones and change their clothes

• Take some snacks as the experience can last more than 3 hours!
