Festive Fun!

Sam was interviewed this month by mybabyradio.com to talk about activities for babies and young children during December.  You can hear Sam's interview at on-line here or read on for her top ideas...

 

Pantomimes are a unique and very festive event for all the family and children from about 3 years will be very happy to sit through the whole show.  Most towns have a performance and you can choose from big names (like Christopher Biggins on in Southampton and Cilla Black in Liverpool!) or less well-known but just as entertaining productions.  And this will have a big bearing on the price, but go off-peak and get a family ticket to keep the cost down.

 

Father Christmas is a great idea for any age although taking babies will be more for Mum and Dad than baby!  But even toddlers will recognise the red suit!  Although be warned that some little ones may be a bit shy with the big man!  A lot of shopping centres and bigger stores will have a Santa in situ.

 

Christmas Fairs are held all over the UK  in community buildings and will really get you in the mood.  Most have fun activities for little ones as well as crafty gifts to buy.

 

Christmas Events are often held at town centres, theme parks, country parks, country house and animal farms or zoos, with some opening especially for the Christmas period.

 

And don't forget Pottery Studios to make some beautiful and unique hand print (or footprint!) gifts for the family.  A lovely cosy afternoon getting messy!

"I was almost relieved to get back into the adult world after maternity leave but found part time work frustrating. My daughter was growing more interesting every day, yet I was paying someone else to look after her. ACPR is still a thriving business and I love writing books. My second book, Family Friendly Working, has lead to lots of media interest and an active blog where women can get ideas for flexible work and starting their own business. I'm now expecting my third child and manage to juggle family life and a busy career. The next book I'm planning is the Mumpreneur Guide which I hope to finish on maternity leave."
